The 5th Hubei Province Drawing Competition Closing Ceremony and 2025 Academic Annual Meeting of Engineering Graphics Society Successfully Held at WUT   

On June 7, the closing ceremony of the 5th Hubei Provincial College Students' Advanced Drawing Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Drawing Competition") and the academic annual meeting of the Hubei Engineering Graphics Society were held in the Library of Nanhu Campus, Wuhan University of Technology. The event brought together university faculty and students, enterprise representatives, and experts to discuss the cutting-edge development in the field of graphics.   

The opening ceremony was chaired by Peng Kai, Deputy Dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, WUT. Zhou Bin, Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate School of WUT, and Huang Qibai, Director of the Hubei Engineering Graphics Society, delivered speeches respectively. Luo Nianmeng, Secretary-General of the Hubei Engineering Graphics Society, Wu Bin, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Song Chunsheng, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and other guests also attended the opening ceremony.  

In the academic forum session, experts including Song Chunsheng, Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Xie Hongjie, Associate Professor of the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Zhang Na, Senior Engineer of Wuhan Boiler Group Valve Co., Ltd., delivered special reports, sharing experiences in talent training, disciplinary competitions, and engineering drawing applications.   

Subsequently, experts such as Wan Zhihua, Associate Professor of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Wuhan Polytechnic University, Liu Shiping, Professor of the School of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Dou Lan, Education Director of Wuhan Tianjihang Information Technology Co., Ltd., gave special reports on industry frontiers and practices.   

At the award ceremony, Lü Zhipeng, Director of the Competition Organizing Committee, announced the list of awardees, and guests presented certificates to the winning teams and individuals.  

Zhou Pan, a teacher from Wenhua College, summarized the experience in competition guidance, and Xu Guoyuan, a student, shared the hardships and gains in the preparation process and the valuable experience learned in the competition. 

At the closing ceremony, Lu Zhipeng summarized the achievements of the event and looked forward to the development of the graphics field in the future. The event built an exchange platform for graphics education and technological innovation, promoting talent training and industry progress.  

The successful holding of the closing ceremony of the Hubei Drawing Competition and the 2025 academic annual meeting of the Engineering Graphics Society not only provided a stage for college students to showcase their talents but also built a platform for experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives in the graphics field to communicate and cooperate. Inspired by the competition and through academic exchanges, it will further promote the development of graphics education and the innovative application of graphics technology in Hubei Province, making positive contributions to cultivating more excellent graphics talents and promoting the progress of graphics undertakings in Hubei Province and even the whole country.
